This was such a beautiful and peaceful place of prayer. I felt a little guilty taking pictures, but I had to get photos of it. Every inch of the Futenma Shrine's architecture was just amazing.
These are the prayers, written down and tied to string, of those who come to pray.
Behind the Shrine is a small cave. The people who come to worship here are Shinto and believe all objects possess an innate soul that both good and evil spirits can be summoned through. These white folded papers you see hanging down or draped over beautiful objects such as some of the rocks are put there to bring good spirits and keep evil away.
